
PURE IRON
Pure iron stands as the pioneering and widely adopted pure metal in the realm of soft magnetic materials. It denotes a type of low-carbon steel characterized by an iron purity exceeding 99.85%, with a carbon content capped at 0.04%. Beyond its exceptional purity and cleanliness, pure iron boasts an array of remarkable attributes, encompassing superior corrosion resistance, impressive hot and cold forming versatility, economical melting costs, and compatibility with a wide range of welding techniques. As an electromagnetic material, it exhibits high saturation magnetization (Bs) and peak permeability (μmax), coupled with low coercivity (Hc), consistent magnetic behavior, and excellent direct current (DC) soft magnetic properties. Consequently, pure iron finds primary applications in the fabrication of electromagnet cores and magnetic poles, the magnetic circuits of electric relays and speakers, various components for induction and electromagnetic measurement instruments, and as magnetic poles for directing magnetic flux in motors.
